The Sea of Light was discovered in the early 17th century. It is the largest pink diamond in the world in the famous Kollur mine in the Golconde region of India. It is the world's largest pink diamond. The original stone weighs 787 carats.
The transliteration of the Sea of Light is Nur-Ul-Ain . Also known as Great Mughal , because The Sea of Light originally belonged to a prince in the southern part of ancient India, and later tribute to the Mughal emperor Jahan Shah who ruled northern India, and at this time the sea of light and The Mountain of Light is in the Mughal Palace and has been treasured for many years. Later, the ancient Indian craftsman carved the Sea of Light into a rose-shaped diamond weighing about 300 carats, which was set on the throne of the emperor together with the Mountain of Light .
In 1739, Persia entered the Mughal Empire and took these diamonds as trophies. Since then, the Sea of Light has been hidden in the courts of Persia (now Iran). Due to the unsightly appearance of its ancient rose, it was once polished and the weight was reduced to 176 carats. In 1958, when the Iranian king got married, the Sea of Light was once again honed into a 60-carat giant round diamond, inlaid in the middle of the king's crown, and renamed Eye of the Light.
