The difference between tanzanite and sapphire:
1. Hardness
Sapphire has a Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamonds. For finished products, it can be used to determine the hardness of topaz and crystal. The hardness of tanzanite is 6.5-7. According to the hardness standard, it can be roughly confirmed whether It is a sapphire.
2. Color
Tanzanite: Tanzanite is blue and transparent, and it looks different when viewed from different angles. Usually, tanzanite will appear in the blue series in daylight, and in the incandescent light (candle, dusk), peach and violet will appear. Usually you will see two colors at the same time, so there are obvious color changes from all directions of tanzanite, while sapphire has only dichroism, although this requires professional instruments to observe, but look carefully, the difference of color will still be reflected.
