Opsydia Advances New Diamond Marking Technology

Opsydia announced that it can now place permanent identifiers in diamond centimeters without affecting its surface finish. For batch processors, this is an important step forward to ensure that their supply chain is not affected by undisclosed synthetic materials.

With this new technology, an alphanumeric sequence, coded shape or logo can be placed under the surface of a diamond with a diameter of only 0.5 mm to create a physical link for supply chain records or brand jewelry traceability. Opsydia's technology is used in the latest ASSURE Diamond Verification Program 2.0 of the Natural Diamond Council (NDC).

This technology is applicable to both diamond centripetals and larger diamonds. Opsydia believes that it can help the industry deal with the challenges of traceability, fraud, forgery, and undisclosure.
