Chopard bought a 6225 carat giant emerald (pictured) at an undisclosed price. The company said it would make a rare jewelry series from it, and "there are endless possibilities".

This huge emerald stone was discovered by the famous gemfields company in Zambia's kagem mine in February 2010 and was named insufu (local Aboriginal Language, meaning "elephant").

It is said that Caroline Scheufele, CO chairman of Chopin, decided to buy this stone. This stone will become part of the exquisite gem series of Chopin's flagship store in Paris.

Earlier this month, a 7525 carat giant emerald was also mined in kagem mine. Later, foreign media said that it was bought by eshed Gemstar company in Israel.
