It is reported that most of the industrial diamonds in the world are currently manufactured in China. As of 2017, artificial diamond production capacity in China has ranked first in the world for more than a decade, accounting for more than 90% of global production.

China produces about 10 billion carats of diamonds for industrial use every year, but the supply of artificial diamonds for international jewellery is now only a few million carats per year. Even upgrading a very small portion of China's industrial drilling capacity to diamonds used in jewelry production will have a huge impact on the international diamond supply, causing the price of diamonds to plummet and reshape the entire global diamond industry.

In addition, according to industry forecasts, by 2020, synthetic diamonds will account for 15% of the jewellery-grade small carat diamond market, and will also account for 7.5% of the jewellery-grade large carat synthetic diamond market. Market space is further increasing.
