From 2020 to 2021, the global demand for lab-grown diamonds has increased significantly, but only Lightbox’s machine and technology are truly ideal of the global CVD growth factory, their CVD lab-grown diamonds are true white, and the machine’s tray is 6-inch, so they can compete with any other lab-grown diamonds with extremely low price, including CVD and HPHT lab-grown diamonds.

There are two things that CVD factories must do: 1. The product must be true white no matter with HPHT treatment or not. 2. The CVD machine must be expanded to at least 6 inch tray.


Now there are only four CVD factories’ lab-grown diamonds can be completely ture white in the world, as we know: US Lightbox, Singapore IIa, Shanghai Zhengshi, Hangzhou Chaoran. Previously, after we enhanced the color of CVD diamonds by HPHT treatment, we announced 15 factors that may cause gray and black in color. Now we must try to improve some or all of the factors that to make the lab-grown diamonds grown and color enhanced to be true white. Don’t care too much about growing directly into true white, because grow to true white directly requires a very slow speed, with fast-growing speed,diamonds will be light brown, but after HPHT or LPHT enhance the color, it will become true white without gray and black, which is more cost-effective.

Lab-grown diamonds for jewellery do not have value-preserving and value-added functions, and are mainly used for decorative purposes. Therefore, the color F/G/H is the most suitable. Too high color grades are also expensive, low color grades are not good for visual effects, both are not suitable.

For CVD machines, only De Beers’ Lightbox and Diamond Foundry use 6-inch tray machines in the world, and all other manufacturers basically use 2-inch tray machines. The production efficiency of these two machines is about 9 times different. If we design and produce a 6-inch tray machine that can grow true white, with our lower growth costs in China, we can compete De Beers products, no matter they sell at a lower cost price, we compete with them.


De Beers sells all general-quality CVD lab-grown diamonds at US$800/carat, including two-carat, one-carat and smaller lab-grown diamonds. All other CVD lab-grown diamonds cannot compete with them, and are only suitable for producing finished products of more than 3 carats. For lab-grown diamonds, if the 3 carats of De Beers also sell for US$800/carat next year, everyone will have to grow lab-grown diamonds of more than 4 carats.


Lab-grown diamonds are suitable for large area CVD diamond materials for industrial use, such as:


CVD boron-doped polycrystalline film and plate;


Diamond heat sink;


Diamond discs for CMP diamond wafers manufactured in integrated circuits;


Diamond LED ultrashort wave PN junction emits light;


Diamond wafer splicing method to produce CVD large-area single crystal wafers.


We have successfully developed the first three items, and the last two items are under development.


These projects have great demand. In the future, there will be a lot of room for CVD diamonds: diamond has the strongest hardness on the earth, the best light transmission, the highest wear resistance, the fastest heat transfer rate and heat dissipation rate, the highest compression resistance, the highest strength, the fastest sound transmission rate, the best low thermal expansion rate, the strongest anti-corrosion ability and the best human body compatibility. Most of these super performances are not yet mature in applications, and they are all in researching. In the future, success will be achieved one by one, which will greatly help human civilization.


Jewelry and diamonds are affected by the policies of De Beers and the Indian CVD industry. The CVD lab-grown industry should be carried out in the industrial direction from now on, with appropriate specifications and quantities, and avoiding the edge to find a direction that suits us.
