Since the discovery of diamonds in 1797 as a mineral consisting almost exclusively of pure carbon, humans have not stopped exploring artificially made diamonds. However, the journey of synthetic diamonds is not smooth.

We know that natural diamonds are simple crystals of carbon formed in the deep high pressure and high temperature of the earth. How to provide a high temperature and high pressure environment has always been an insurmountable mountain. Until the 20th century, thermodynamics and high temperature and high pressure technology were developed, and synthetic diamonds really became possible.

In 1955, General Electric staff, Tracy Hall, prepared diamond diamonds in the laboratory, which really opened the history of synthetic diamonds.

In 1963, China made the first synthetic diamond in China with a domestic two-face press. As of 2016, China's synthetic diamonds have ranked first in the world for 14 consecutive years. More than 90% of the global production of synthetic single crystal diamonds comes from China, and the output in 2016 is close to 20 billion carats!
