2019 is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. To celebrate, the People's Bank of China is scheduled to issue gold and silver commemorative coins in May 2019.

In 1994, the People’s Bank of China issued a China-Singapore friendly gold and silver commemorative coin.

In 1997, the People's Bank of China issued a China-Thailand friendly commemorative silver coin.

In 2014, the People's Bank of China issued a gold and silver commemorative coin for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.

In 2015, the People's Bank of China issued the South African China Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins.
