Recently, PETRA DIAMONDS sold 425CT white diamond rough stone excavated at the Cullinan mining area in South Africa for US$15 million.
RICHARD DUFFY, the CEO of Petra Diamonds, said that this is a very important event for Petra, which proves that the Cullinan mining area has the strength to produce large grain diamonds.
The diamond is D-color, type II, gem-grade, and is called LEGACY OF THE CULLINAN DIAMOND MINE. Its joint buyers are STARGEMS and CHORON.
SHAILESH JAVERI, chairman of STARGEMS Group, said that the Cullinan Diamond Mine has produced the most iconic diamonds. As one of Petra's main customers, our company is honored to have the opportunity to cut this diamond.
The diamond was mined by Petra in March in the high-value area of the mining area (zone C). At the time, analysts expected the value of the diamond to be between $80 and $35 million, and the estimated price of BMO was around $15 million.
