An extra large gold mine was discovered in Henan! Henan's annual gold production ranks second in the country

On October 27, the reporter learned from the Henan Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources that the bureau made a major prospecting breakthrough in Weishan City, Zhuzhuang Town, Tongbai County, and discovered a super-large gold mine. A total of 16 gold ore bodies have been discovered, with a preliminary estimate of 31.55 tons of gold reserves, which is a super large gold mine; it is expected to exceed 50 tons by the end of this year.

It is reported that the gold mine is located in the deep and the periphery of the Laowan Gold Mine in Tongbai County, Tongbai Mountain. The newly discovered gold resources are estimated to be 104,96 million kilograms, and the associated silver resources are estimated to be 122,038 kilograms. In addition to the large gold deposits discovered, a large number of trona and lead-zinc mineral resources have been newly discovered.

 This is another major achievement of gold exploration in our province in the past three years. For decades, Henan's annual gold output has been ranked second in the country.

 According to data from the China Gold Association, the top 10 provinces in China's gold production are:

Shandong, Henan, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Hunan, Gansu, Fujian, Hubei, and Xinjiang, these ten provinces (regions) gold production accounted for 82.94% of the country's total gold production.

Gold resources can be divided into three categories: mineral gold, associated gold and rock gold. Among them, rock gold is currently the main target of gold mine development. my country’s proven gold reserves are relatively concentrated in the eastern and central regions. There are 7 rock gold production bases nationwide, namely Shandong Jiaodong, Western Henan Xiaoqinling, and Yanliao -Daqingshan, eastern Liaoning, Guizhou, Guizhou and Guizhou triangles, Hubei, Anhui and Jiangxi triangles, and northern Xinjiang. Among them, the Jiaodong Gold Mine's deep prospecting has accumulated more than 4,600 tons of newly added resources, making it the third largest gold mining area in the world.

According to the "China Gold Yearbook 2020" issued by the China Gold Association, as of the end of 2019, the country's identified gold resource reserves were 14,131.06 tons, a net increase of 492.66 tons over the previous year and a year-on-year increase of 3.61%. my country’s identified gold resource reserves have exceeded the 10,000 tons mark for five consecutive years. Since 2007, my country’s gold production has ranked first in the world for 13 consecutive years.
