In 1904, Dr. Henri Moissan discovered a gleaming mineral in a crater in Arizona about 50,000 years ago. According to international practice, named after the discoverer, this mineral is named “Moissanite Stone” or “Moissanite Diamond”. Natural moissanite is very rare and only appears in craters. It also shows that the conditions for the formation of moissanite in nature are harsh.

GIA is the American Gemological Institute founded by Robert M. Shipley in 1931. The English name is Gemological Institute of America. Today, GIA's 4C standard is also a common standard in the international jewelry industry.

GIA American Gemological Institute and IGI International Gemological Institute are not the same, but in terms of audiences, GIA is more than IGI.
